Same problems here. What amazes me more than anything else is how they managed to ruin an overall stable experience in 13 hours (downtime for the apocrypha launch)."extensive" testing my A$$. Well, in the end it seems that the only thing that must be respected at all costs is not the client but the release date. I can only hope they resolve this soon.

Just out of curiosity...has any of you talked with someone who has working sound?I understand that per definition in this forum there are only ppl who experience sound problems; but if someone has any info on a setup that works (hardware wise) it would be nice to know. I have the same problems by the way.

The sound problems are still outrageous, almost a year after the apocrypha launch, for their gravity but also for the lack of any response by CCP except of course some ridiculous workarounds that -guess what- don't work. I filed yet another petition with them and i'm still waiting for the response (which i will post here) asking also if there is any known hardware configuration that actually works cause at this point i have only one question: "The sound works on their computers and they're satisfied or even the devs are forced to play with their sound turned off?????"

Just received the response to my petition and guess what...
IT'S THE SAME ONE THEY SENT ME ALMOST A YEAR AGO (15 March 2009).
So as far as progress in resolving the sound issues is concerned i can say one thing. There is none. I will naturally continue to open petitions because it's my right to do so and also because by staying silent i will definitely obtain nothing. So, i invite you all to continue to send your petitions and maybe we will obtain something (at this point even a nod acknowledging that there are sound problems would be nice and that someone is trying to resolve them).

Be sure to submit a bug report too. That's one of the few things we can do to help (if anyone is actually working on the problems). If you have already sent the bug report you can vent all you want in your petitions.
Let's all unite in a moment of prayer for the new sound engine that will replace this cr**py one.
Cheers

So, some updates...
I sent a bug report with a description of all the problems most of us are having and in their reply they said that they can't reproduce the problems on their computers. They also said that my driver was old but the last driver that creative made for my model (x-fi fatal1ty) was in July 2009. Anyway, i switched to my onboard card (Realtek HD Audio) installed the latest drivers (22 Jan 2010) and i must say that EVE sounds a bit better. It's not perfect, but definitely an improvement. So if you also have Realtek on the m/b try downloading the new drivers and pray (the latter is the most important one)...
